OVA
Description
Takeshi Momoshiro, known as Momo, is a second-year student in Class 2-8, seat 16, at Seishun Gakuen Junior High and a key tennis team member. Standing 170 cm tall and weighing 58 kg, his birthday is July 23 (Leo, blood type O). His family consists of his parents, a younger brother, and a younger sister. He excels in mathematics but struggles with English. His preferences include fried prawn burgers, strawberry coco sundaes, the color red, listening to music, playing shooting games, and active girls who like sports.

One of the team's taller players, Momoshiro maintains a well-toned physique through daily workouts and takes pride in styling his spiky hair each morning with gel and a comb.

Outgoing, friendly, and approachable, he earned the nickname "Seigaku's No. 1 Rascal" from captain Kunimitsu Tezuka. Momoshiro desires to be liked by everyone, insisting underclassmen address him as "Momo-chan" or "Momo-chan-senpai." His closest friendship is with Ryoma Echizen, often sharing hamburgers or playing street tennis. Despite his amiable nature, he occasionally displays arrogance by underestimating opponents. He shares an intense rivalry with Kaoru Kaidoh, yet their deep understanding makes them effective doubles partners. This rivalry mellows, leading to Momoshiro serving as vice-captain under Kaidoh's third-year captaincy, though peers like Sakuno perceive him as "too nice" for the role.

His tennis journey starts with an unfinished, injury-halting match against Echizen, forging their bond. Initially a singles player, a street tennis defeat convinces him "real men play doubles." Partnering with Echizen in the Tokyo Districts, they develop the "Ah-Un" strategy to overcome poor coordination, securing a win but being relegated to reserves afterward.

During the Tokyo Prefecturals, Momoshiro partners with Kaidoh against St. Rudolph. Their rivalry unexpectedly fuels synergy, leading to victory where Momoshiro's "Dunk Smash" knocks an opponent unconscious. He later defeats Yamabuki's Sengoku Kiyosumi in singles using the "Jack Knife," mastered after recovering from an ankle injury.

Temporarily cut from the regulars after losing to Sadaharu Inui in Regionals ranking matches, his absence disrupts team dynamics, prompting even Echizen to search. Playing street tennis with An Tachibana during this period, he recognizes his tendency to underestimate opponents. He returns with renewed determination, supporting the team as a non-regular. When Syusuke Oishi is injured before a critical Hyotei match, Momoshiro substitutes as Eiji Kikumaru's doubles partner. Guided by Oishi's advice, he adapts swiftly, helping secure a win praised for mirroring the "Golden Pair's" synergy. This performance solidifies his regular position after Tezuka's injury.

In the anime, Momoshiro partners with Inui against Josei Shonan's Tanaka twins. His prediction abilities surge mid-match, turning a 0-4 deficit into a 5-4 lead, but accidentally consuming Inui's Special Juice forces a forfeit.

Momoshiro employs aggressive baseline play. Signature techniques include the powerful aerial "Dunk Smash," the professional-level backhand "Jack Knife," and the "Bullet Serve." He later develops the "Black Jack Knife," "Tornado Snake," predictive "Calm Insight," and the "Australian Formation." He excels at reading opponents' movements and leveraging environmental elements like wind or sun. His "Super Great Momoshiro Special" and anime-exclusive "Super Dunk" demonstrate tactical versatility.

By the series' epilogue, Momoshiro represents Japan as No. 19 in the U-17 camp. Trivia notes include Kintaro Toyama's respect for his ability to predict weather from wind patterns, his ninth place in a Weekly Shonen Jump popularity poll, and the meaning of his name ("momo" translates to "peach," "shiro" to "white"). Nicknames like Sengoku's "Omoshiro-kun" and Koharu's "Momojiri" (Peach Butt) play on his surname. He participates in the Nationals tournament during "Zenkoku Taikai-hen Semifinal."
