Description
Juna Doma is a central character who begins her journey as a talented songstress in the Elfrieden Kingdom before revealing a far more complex and crucial role in the nation's future. She is the granddaughter of Excel Walter, a powerful and influential duchess, and carries the blood of the Ryujin clan. Initially working as a singer in a capital city tavern, Juna first comes to the attention of King Kazuya Souma when she wins the singing category during his nationwide talent search, demonstrating an extraordinary ability to memorize and perfectly replicate a Japanese song after hearing it only once from his smartphone.

Despite her public persona as a performer, Juna’s initial mission was as a spy codenamed Canaria, deployed by her grandmother to observe the new king and determine if he was worthy of the Walter family's support. As a commissioned officer in the Elfrieden Navy, she also holds the rank of captain of the Marine Corps, a force of three thousand soldiers, which reflects her family's strong maritime traditions. After witnessing Souma's effective and realist approach to governance, she abandoned her covert mission, revealed her true purpose to him, and pledged her sincere loyalty, a decision that prompted her grandmother to formally align with the king.

Juna is known for her composed, pragmatic, and highly intelligent personality. Often described as mature for her age, she possesses a calming and maternal presence, using her voice to soothe and heal the emotional burdens of those around her. This aspect of her character becomes vital in her relationship with King Souma, for whom she becomes an emotional sanctuary. While his primary fiancée, Liscia, is seen as the one who draws out his strength, Juna takes it upon herself to be the person who hides his weakness. In a pivotal moment, when overwork leaves Souma unable to sleep, Juna visits his room, lets him rest his head in her lap, and sings him a lullaby, allowing him to finally cry and find rest.

Her role in the story is multifaceted, extending far beyond that of a royal consort. King Souma appoints her as the Prima Lorelei, the central figure in Project Lorelei, a cultural and educational broadcasting initiative that uses her singing to raise public morale, spread information, and unify the kingdom. On the battlefield, she transforms into a cool and thorough military commander. During the One Week War against the Principality of Amidonia, she led her marine forces in a tactical delaying action, using pre-flooded roads to stall the enemy army and inflict heavy casualties, showcasing her expertise in covert operations and naval combat. Her abilities include skill with throwing knives, which she can imbue with water-based magic to pulverize incoming projectiles.

Juna's key relationships anchor her development. Her bond with her grandmother, Excel Walter, is a close, mother-daughter-like relationship that evolves from one of duty to mutual trust and affection. She also shares a strong, sisterly bond with Liscia, which grows from their shared love and concern for Souma. Over time, Juna's affection for the king deepens into genuine love. With the encouragement of her grandmother, she asks to become his consort. Due to her immense popularity as the nation's idol, a public engagement is postponed to avoid public unrest, but she enters a secret betrothal with Souma, becoming his third fiancée and later, at his coronation, the First Secondary Queen Consort, taking the name Juna Souma. As a consort, she continues to serve the kingdom, acting as the head of state during a military expedition, assisting in the retrieval of her grandmother from Lastania, and joining a mission to the Nine Headed Dragon Archipelago where her singing coordinates naval forces and where she later announces her pregnancy with Souma's child.
