Description
Tatsuya Shiba stands as the central protagonist throughout all official media, prominently featured in the film "The Girl Who Summons the Stars." His origins lie within the powerful Yotsuba clan, counted among Japan's Ten Master Clans overseeing magicians. Born to Shiba Tatsurou and Shiba Miya, pre-birth genetic manipulation and magical experimentation endowed him with unique abilities centered on matter decomposition, reconstruction, and detonation. An artificial magician procedure at age six drastically altered his emotional capacity, suppressing most strong feelings except an unwavering devotion to his younger sister, Miyuki Shiba. This same procedure constrained his conventional magic, leading the Yotsuba to designate him solely as Miyuki's guardian, denying him formal family recognition.

His innate magical powers define him: Decomposition, capable of disassembling matter and energy at their fundamental level, and Regrowth, which restores objects or organisms using stored mental "backups." These classify him as a Strategic-Class magician. Despite low practical magic exam scores placing him in First High School's Course 2, his technical knowledge, combat proficiency, and analytical intellect far surpass standard metrics. He wields Elemental Sight, perceiving and analyzing information bodies (eidos), including magical sequences and distant phenomena. Combat training under ninja Kokonoe Yakumo granted him exceptional physical prowess independent of magic.

Tatsuya's personality reflects stoicism and emotional reserve, a direct consequence of the experimental limbic system alteration. His analytical mind rapidly categorizes individuals into hostile or non-hostile groups to inform tactical decisions. Protectiveness surfaces exclusively for Miyuki, triggering ruthless responses to perceived threats against her. Socially, he exhibits limited grasp of typical teenage interactions, often appearing aloof or lacking common sense, yet maintains loyalty to friends and allies, offering assistance when required.

In "The Girl Who Summons the Stars," set during spring break after his first year, Tatsuya journeys with Miyuki and friends to the Ogasawara Islands. The military tasks him with destroying a threatening asteroid, demonstrating his Strategic-Class capabilities. The plot centers on his encounter with Kokoa, a fugitive from a naval research facility where augmented magicians (Watatsumi series) power a massive CAD. Kokoa's plea resonates due to parallels with Sakurai Honami, an augmented magician from his past who sacrificed herself during the Okinawa conflict, motivating his intervention to rescue the Watatsumi subjects.

The film reveals the naval facility's development of "Meteorite Fall," a Strategic-Class magic designed to summon celestial bodies. When this weaponizes the USNA space station "Seventh Plague," laden with uranium bombs, Tatsuya coordinates with USNA operative Angelina Kudou Shields (Lina) to avert catastrophe. He infiltrates the facility, neutralizes hostile forces, destroys the experimental CAD, and evacuates the Watatsumi girls. He then collaborates with Shields to reach space, where he decomposes the falling station into a harmless aurora-like phenomenon.

Beyond the film, Tatsuya operates secretly as Taurus Silver, a revolutionary magic device engineer through the Yotsuba-affiliated Four Leaves Technology. His engagement to Miyuki, orchestrated by Yotsuba leader Maya, formalizes his role in the clan's succession plans. Post-graduation, he establishes the Magian Company to address international disputes involving magicians and non-humans, expanding his influence beyond academia.
