Description
Takumi Fujiwara, a second-year student at Mizuho High School, is the captain and point guard of the boys' basketball team, standing 184 cm tall and wearing jersey number 4. His history with the team includes a first-year incident where he punched coach Kaoru Shimojō, leading to the coach's transfer and a one-year tournament ban.

Fujiwara attended Mizuho Junior High, playing basketball with longtime friend Ranmaru Miura. During this time, he sustained a significant right knee injury in a game involving Miura. This injury persisted into high school, requiring mandated rehabilitation to improve flexibility and stability before the prefectural tournament.

Characterized as strict and outspoken with an A blood type associated with a "whiner" personality, Fujiwara shares a close bond with Miura, who blames himself for the knee injury despite it not being his fault. Fujiwara is romantically involved with Mutsumi Akiyoshi, captain of the girls' basketball team, whom he calls by her first name; their relationship impacts her performance, as emotional distress once affected her gameplay until Fujiwara intervened before a critical match.

His leadership and skills are central to Mizuho's revival after the team dissolved. Transfer student Kazuhiko Aikawa inspired its resurrection, with Fujiwara as captain. Fujiwara's defensive and offensive abilities earned recognition from rivals like Satoru Nagase. Aikawa credits Fujiwara as the reason he can push beyond his limits, though Aikawa denied Fujiwara was equal in skill to Masato Sawanobori, star player of rival school Tendōji.

Fujiwara's development involved overcoming the stigma of punching the coach, managing his knee injury, and evolving into a leader who trusts his teammates. He specifically encouraged Miura to regain his middle-school prowess—unpredictable passing, sharp judgment, and scoring ability—to become a feared player. His growth fueled the team's journey to the Inter-High national championship, where they defeated Tendōji for the title.
