Description
Marcos Branch Wellington, son of the aristocratic Wellington family, resides in their Scottish castle near Sandybell's village. Though his parents, the Count and Countess of Wellington, hold significant social standing, Marcos personally rejects business pursuits and wealth, dedicating himself instead to art. His mother forms a bond with Sandybell, gifting her a deeply symbolic white narcissus flower.

Upon meeting Sandybell, Marcos develops romantic feelings for her. This directly conflicts with the ambitions of Kitty Shearer, who comes from a wealthy family seeking aristocratic ties. Desiring a marriage alliance with Marcos, Kitty actively sabotages his relationship with Sandybell. After his parents die in a car accident, Marcos faces intense pressure to honor a prearranged engagement to Kitty. Unwilling to comply, he flees his responsibilities. Before departing, he promises to return for Sandybell once he establishes himself as a worthy painter.

His journey takes him extensively across Europe, often assisting people while refining his artistic skills. Throughout this separation, he maintains a connection to Sandybell through his drawings, her image frequently inspiring his work. He undergoes mentorship under the renowned painter Vicente Lossan, aiding his professional development. While apart from Sandybell, Marcos experiences significant personal growth, confronting his own tendencies toward selfishness with help from Alex Peterson.

Ultimately achieving success as a painter, Marcos fulfills his promise by reuniting with Sandybell. Their relationship culminates in an engagement. In the series finale, he witnesses the emotional reunion between Sandybell and her mother, Linda. Linda’s memory is triggered when Sandybell rescues a drowning child, an event Marcos observes. This reunion also reveals Edward, Linda’s brother, as Sandybell’s uncle, confirming her noble lineage.
