Javier Ponton is a Mexican voice actor and dubbing director with a career spanning several decades, during which he has also held numerous executive positions in the localization industry. He began his dubbing career at the age of twelve and later moved to Los Angeles in 1981, where he continued to work in voice acting, sound engineering, and music production. His artistic training was completed at the Andres Soler Drama Institute in Mexico.

In the realm of anime and animated series for the Latin American Spanish market, Ponton is recognized for a variety of roles. He provided the voice for Rey Arturo in the series Entaku no Kishi Monogatari: Moero Arthur. He voiced the character Jimmy Logan, also known as Takashi Katori, in the series Video Warrior Laserion. His other anime credits include the role of Marcos in Hello! Sandybell and the character Alan in Once Upon a Time. Additionally, his work in this field encompasses roles such as Ernesto De Rossi in Ai no Gakko Cuore Monogatari, and multiple characters in Space Adventure Cobra, including Himmler, Serombo, and Vega. He also voiced Chip Chase, Hound, and Skyfire in the U.S. series Transformers.

Beyond his work in anime, Ponton has an extensive career dubbing live-action films and is particularly known for being the regular Spanish dubbing voice for actors such as Roger Moore, Tom Cruise in his early films, and Robert Pattinson in the Twilight saga. His film dubbing credits also include voicing Batman in the original dubs of Batman and Batman Returns, as well as roles in Top Gun, Rain Man, and Willow.

Parallel to his work as a voice actor, Ponton has been a highly influential figure in the dubbing industry on an executive and creative level. He spent a decade at The Walt Disney Company, where he served as Executive Director for Buena Vista Worldwide Services and later as Vice President of Disney Character Voices International. In these roles, he oversaw the dubbing of Disney films and series into dozens of languages, was instrumental in launching The Disney Channel in India, and directed notable musicians such as Sting and Phil Collins in their recording sessions for Disney films. For his work, he received a Disney award for outstanding achievements in foreign dubbing in 1994. He later founded his own company, Ponton Worldwide Productions, and served as Vice President of Global Dubbing for SDI Media Group, continuing to consult on dubbing projects and technologies worldwide.
