Description
Yūto Goryō is a first-year literature student and guitarist leading the band Argonavis. Born into Hakodate's prestigious academic family—his father a professor and brothers doctors and lawyers—he defied expectations to pursue music, wrestling with an inferiority complex toward his siblings while seeking self-worth beyond their legacy.
Enthusiastic and passionately driven by his motto "You won't know unless you try," he co-founded Argonavis with Wataru Matoba at university, projecting confident leadership. Yet he privately battles insecurity over his guitar skills, once nearly abandoning the band fearing he hindered the others.
His past includes a high school band with Nayuta Asahi that dissolved due to Nayuta's dictatorial approach and their clashing values, fueling Yūto's grudge against him. This history initially made Yūto refuse Argonavis opening for GYROAXIA and inspired him to shape Argonavis as a collaborative counterpoint.
He addresses all bandmates informally by first names, showcasing approachability. His kindness surfaces in practical gestures like advising Ren Nanahoshi on fashion to compensate for Ren's poor style sense. He also easily connects with children through his cheerful, reassuring demeanor.
Thematically, his name "Yūto" blends "tie/fasten" and "people," reflecting his band-unifying role, while "Goryō" means "five angles/edges." He avoids stew and hotpot dishes, the latter disliked due to negative family associations.
