Description
Ren Nanahoshi, a first-year law student who transfers to Kamogawa Music College, shares the Faculty of Law with Nayuta Asahi. Though reserved and soft-spoken, he harbors a fiery determination to pursue music, sparked by a childhood encounter with an outdoor live performance. A disillusioning middle-school choir experience drove him to hone his vocals privately in karaoke booths, where his raw talent caught the attention of Yuto Goryo and Wataru Matoba, ultimately recruiting him as Argonavis’s vocalist.
Initially socially awkward and isolated, Ren slowly blossoms through band camaraderie, though his struggles with technology—like fumbling cameras during recordings—persist. His artistic and culinary attempts remain endearingly inept, depicted through scribbled drawings and comically failed dishes. Yet his soaring vocals and unyielding dedication command respect, even from rival Nayuta, whose antagonism Ren meets with unwavering friendliness.
A fervent tokusatsu enthusiast, Ren eagerly references Super Sentai Series lore and belts its anthems during performances. His devotion extends to Lucky Pierrot’s Chinese chicken burgers, a comfort food whose absence in Tokyo leaves him wistful. His name reflects celestial and botanical symbolism: "Nanahoshi" alludes to Ursa Major’s seven stars, while "Ren" signifies the lotus.
From solitary dreamer to Argonavis’s emotional core, Ren’s journey orbits his ambition to conquer grand stages. Interactions with bandmates and rivals alike reveal a blend of wide-eyed sincerity and tenacity, bridging quiet introspection with bold artistic resolve.
