TV-Series
Description
Medusa is a gorgon demon from the demon world and a major supporting character in the series. She is distinguished by her short purple hair and purple eyes, and she usually dresses in ancient Egyptian-style attire. Because her gaze can turn any living creature to stone, she is forced to wear a paper bag over her head whenever she goes out in the human world. A magical tiara worn at all times suppresses the full extent of her power, allowing her to live a more normal life. Originally from the demon realm, she shares a long-standing childhood bond with the little devil lord Jashin and is one of the few people who genuinely loves and cares for her, although Jashin often takes advantage of her kindness by borrowing money and referring to her as an ATM. Despite this, Medusa remains deeply loyal and often yields to Jashin’s requests. Her personality is gentle, timid, polite, and consistently kind, exerting a positive influence on everyone around her. She is often described as a Yamato Nadeshiko type, meaning she embodies the ideal of a nurturing and selfless individual. In the human world, she works as a nurse in a local hospital, balancing her job with her friendships. Her tender nature allows her to see the hidden good side of Jashin, reinforcing their interdependence and keeping their bond strong. Unlike her mythological counterpart, Medusa is not a monster but a sweet and rational figure who serves as a calming presence among the chaotic cast of demons and humans. Her petrification ability is her primary power, but she rarely uses it intentionally, preferring to avoid conflict. Throughout the series, her role is that of a steadfast friend who supports Jashin through various misadventures, while her own gentle demeanor makes her a quietly beloved member of the group.
