Description
Pekora, a fallen archangel stranded on Earth after losing her halo, lives in destitution, stripped of her celestial power and barred from returning to Heaven. Branded a traitor for allying with demons and the human witch Yurine Hanazono, she scrapes by through menial work and fleeting charity. Her frail frame and pallid features—grayish-blond hair, ochre eyes, and a worn black dress paired with scuffed boots—reflect years of hardship.

Once ashamed of her reliance on demonic aid, Pekora’s resolve hardens when Heaven dispatches the angel Pino to execute her. This threat pushes her to shield former enemies, including thwarting fallen angel Poporon’s plot against Persephone II. Though mired in poverty, she clings to angelic virtues, channeling meager resources into altruistic acts like fundraising for an orphanage’s canceled Christmas celebration.

As mentor and bodyguard to Poporon—operating under the alias Amatsuka Noel—she imparts celestial principles while navigating fraught bonds. Her history with Yurine, marked by a botched assassination attempt, shifts from animosity to uneasy collaboration, though she denies friendship. Interactions with Jashin-chan teeter between rivalry and camaraderie, united by their shared exile.

A fleeting reclamation of her halo ends in its shattering, exacerbating her existential despair. Hints of her past prejudice toward demons contrast her gradual empathy, forged through earthly trials. Parallels with Jashin-chan underscore themes of resilience, yet Pekora’s journey remains tinged with melancholy, diverging from the narrative’s comedic beats.

Her origins intertwine with Lierre, a divine entity plotting humanity’s ruin. Despite awareness of Lierre’s goals, Pekora remains bound to her. Clues to her advanced age—a 3,000-year absence from Heaven’s lakes—and transient role as an orphanage’s Santa Claus highlight her enduring, conflicted compassion amid eternal strife.
