Description
E.M. Pino is a miniature anti-bot machine created by Ziggy, the former Demon King, and is designated as his personal property. Her creation and latest maintenance date was recorded as the year X492, with the work performed by Weisz Steiner. She was subsequently dispatched to the planet Norma, a world trapped in the past at the year X442 after having fifty years of its time consumed by a Chronophage. There, her briefcase was discovered by Sibir, a local crime boss, and his gang, who sought to exploit her functions for monetary gain.

During her time on Norma, Pino endured significant cruelty. When she failed to perform a dance for Sibir's entertainment, her leg was torn off and replaced with a simple screw. More profoundly, her memories of her original master, Ziggy, were forcibly erased, and she was compelled to recognize Sibir as her new master, an event that was recorded on her B-Cube terminal.

Her circumstances changed when a younger version of Weisz Steiner stole her briefcase, mistaking it for money. While Weisz argued with Shiki Granbell in an underground bar, Pino’s briefcase was accidentally opened. Upon emerging, her electromagnetic pulse (EMP) activated inadvertently, shorting out the area's lights and disabling Shiki's Satan Gravity Ether Gear. Shiki, impressed by her power, immediately asked her to be his friend, a notion she accepted after a moment's consideration. However, when questioned about her master, her damaged memory reloaded with Sibir as the designated figure, and overcome with fear of his wrath, she fled back to his hideout. After Shiki witnessed the abuse she suffered and rescued her, Pino disabled the self-destruct mechanism of Sibir's Knight Gear, a decision that solidified her friendship with Shiki and led her to join the crew of the Edens Zero. She is often referred to as the "Light of Edens," representing the next generation of androids following the Four Shining Stars.

Initially, Pino has an indifferent expression and a laid-back personality, reacting to Shiki's friendship request with calm uncertainty. Despite her machine nature, she displays a range of emotions, including fear, pain, and loyalty. She is self-aware about her limitations, openly acknowledging her inability to perform tasks like dancing. She can also be defensive and disobedient when given orders that conflict with the memories or wishes of her true master. A central motivating desire for Pino is her wish to one day become human. This aspiration is explored in a profound way during an encounter with the cosmic entity Mother, who offers to reincarnate Pino as the daughter of Shiki and Rebecca in a new universe. Pino declines the offer, stating she cannot bear to replace the soul of an unborn child. Her wish is later acknowledged in an abstract form when a human version of her is born on Earth.

Pino's role in the story is that of a key crew member of the Edens Zero, integral to many of their missions and battles. Her primary ability is generating an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) that can short out electronic devices and cancel active Ether Gear powers. Initially, this power activates involuntarily when she is under emotional distress, but after training, she gains precise control over it, allowing her to selectively disable specific targets. She later achieves a powerful transformation known as Overdrive, which changes her appearance to include a black dress and mechanical wing attachments, enhancing her capabilities. As a machine, she possesses advanced analytical functions, including structural composition analysis, trajectory calculation for projectiles, and facial recognition. She can also record video via her optical sensors, broadcast her vision live to the Edens Zero, and project holographic screens to share magnified views.

Throughout her journey, Pino develops strong bonds with the crew. Her relationship with Shiki is foundational, as his act of kindness and friendship is what freed her from her life of abuse. She forms a close connection with Weisz, who uses his Ether Gear to restore her lost leg. She also works closely with Rebecca Bluegarden and the other crew members, actively participating in missions and showing genuine concern for their safety. Her physical appearance evolves over time. Initially, she wears a small blue and green dress with fairy-like wings and has a pink bob-cut style helmet with rabbit-ear-like antennae. After the Norma arc, she adopts a magenta sleeveless dress, and by the year X495, her attire changes again to a dark sweater with a heart emblem, dark shoes, and a bunny backpack, while her antennae darken and her eyes become sharper. In the virtual world of Digitalis, her chosen avatar resembles a young human girl with rabbit-like ears.
