Description
A Japanese high school student with short brown hair, medium brown eyes, and delicate features that give her a soft, approachable demeanor, Aira Misono is unexpectedly summoned to the kingdom of Salutania alongside office worker Sei Takanashi through a ritual meant for a single saint. Crown Prince Kyle Salutania mistakes Aira’s youthful appearance as a sign that she is the saint, isolating her under his protection and leaving Sei disregarded. The abrupt displacement causes Aira profound distress, especially upon learning the ritual offers no way home, leading to an emotional breakdown. Initially marked by extreme shyness and social anxiety, she yearns for friendships but feels undeserving, a feeling amplified by frequent criticism at the Royal Academy where Prince Kyle enrolls her. Her modern Japanese social values clash with Salutania’s medieval aristocratic customs, particularly regarding interactions with betrothed noblemen, leading to ostracization by female peers. Aira demonstrates significant magical aptitude, especially for elemental magic with affinities for water and air, and has an unusual ability to improve her skills rapidly. Although Prince Kyle initially pressures her to focus on holy magic, her elemental abilities become evident. Unlike Sei, Aira lacks saint-specific abilities such as enhanced healing or infinite holy magic proficiency. After Sei is confirmed as the true saint and Prince Kyle is confined for his error, Aira is freed from his oversight. She reconciles with her peers, forms genuine friendships with Sei and Elizabeth Ashley, graduates from the Royal Academy, and enrolls in the Royal Mage Academy to pursue her magical studies independently. The spin-off manga The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent: The Other Saint follows her continued development as she works in the Court Mage Division, conducts experiments with holy water, and participates in field missions. Her name, meaning love, affection, and virtue, reflects her kind nature, while her surname combines the meanings of honorable and garden.
