Description
Ethan Glenn, alias Jesse Glenn in English adaptations, is a Ventus-attribute Gundalian brawler partnered with the Bakugan Plitheon. He operates as a Gundalian Agent under Ren Krawler, initially loyal to Emperor Barodius during the infiltration of Bakugan Interspace. His mission involves identifying and recruiting powerful human brawlers for Gundalia while posing as a Neathian operative.
He exhibits a poetic and theatrical personality, frequently speaking in elaborate prose and referencing literature such as William Shakespeare's works and the song "Hungry Like the Wolf," often confusing allies and opponents. Ethan carries a book that appears filled with writing, later revealed as blank pages upon his temporary disposal. He shares a close bond with Plitheon, who occasionally shows annoyance at his theatrics.
Physically, Ethan has blonde hair with red tips and violet eyes. His attire reflects Gundalian heritage, initially featuring a green jacket with dark designs, black pants, and pointy shoes. Later outfits incorporate fingerless gloves, turtleneck blouses, and ballet-inspired footwear. Post-time skip designs include green eyeliner and enhanced musculature.
During the Neathian-Gundalian conflict, Ethan battles and kidnaps a Haos brawler in Bakugan Interspace for Barodius. He later faces Fabia Sheen in a match intended for Dan Kuso; Fabia nearly wins until a system error engineered by Ren disrupts the arena, securing Ethan's victory. After Ren's betrayal is exposed, Ethan flees but remains misidentified as a Neathian by Ren.
He demonstrates significant combat prowess, defeating Shun Kazami and Linus Claude single-handedly despite Ren's loss in their tag-team battle. Partnering with Stoica, he confronts Dan and Fabia at the Neathian Jungle shield but loses. Fearing punishment for this failure, he escapes imprisonment and allies with Ren for redemption. In a tag battle against Fabia and Jake Vallory, Ethan wins the first round but loses the overall match. He subsequently vanishes, leaving behind his book with the declaration, "The spotlight has shifted to you, Ren."
Contrary to assumptions, Ethan survives. Kazarina captures and brainwashes him alongside Lena Isis and Zenet Surrow, forcing them to battle Nurzak and Fabia. Under hypnosis, he aids Gundalia's invasion of Neathia, defeating Neathian forces including Elright and the Castle Knights. Kazarina's death breaks the brainwashing, freeing Ethan to join the Castle Knights' final assault against Barodius and Phantom Dharak. During this battle, he mistakes the resurrected Mason Brown and Nurzak for revived casualties but helps defeat Impalton forces.
Following Barodius's defeat, Ethan awakens Linehalt's Forbidden Power and returns to Gundalia with Ren, Lena, Mason, Zenet, and Nurzak to establish a new government. In the subsequent Chaos Bakugan conflict, Ethan and Plitheon reappear defending Gundalia in image form.
Notable trivia includes his resemblance to Pokémon characters Palmer and Burgh, his undefeated record on Earth among Gundalian Agents, and a 56% win rate across all battles. He shares a unique trait with Lena Isis as the only Gundalian operatives leaving physical items (his book, her glasses) after disposal. Ethan exclusively uses Vilantor Gear as his Bakugan Battle Gear.
