Description
Lan, formally known as Fin E Ld Si Laffinty, is a princess from the planet Le Garite, ruled by her older brother Dizelmine. She arrives on Earth with a mission to protect Madoka Kyouno and oversee the Vox Unit technology. Unfamiliar with terrestrial culture, she initially exhibits social clumsiness, using unconventional canine-like vocalizations ("wan") for greetings based on deceptive advice from Asteria about Earth customs.
She moves in with Madoka in Kamogawa and joins the school's Jersey Club, dedicated to helping others. Lan forms a close bond with Madoka, complicated by periodic jealousy towards another alien, Muginami, due to Muginami's significant interest in Madoka, creating occasional friction within their trio.
Designated pilot of the aquatic-themed Vox Rympha mecha, which she names "Orca," Lan initially feels apprehension about her role due to a foreboding legend linking Vox pilots to apocalyptic events. Encouraged by Madoka, she overcomes her fears and achieves full operational capability. Her combat role expands when Vox Rympha is upgraded with a hybrid sword-machine gun weapon firing 120mm projectiles and an energy shield defense system.
Lan becomes involved in interplanetary conflicts between Le Garite and neighboring De Metrio, governed by Villagulio. These conflicts reveal complex political dynamics and familial obligations, particularly concerning Dizelmine's genocidal strategies against De Metrio, which cause her moral conflict. Throughout these events, Lan demonstrates increased assertiveness and leadership capacity, culminating in her formal coronation as Le Garite's sovereign. She integrates her Earth experiences into her leadership by wearing her Jersey Club attire during the ceremony.
