TV-Series
Description
Joker, originally Jack Jones, enjoyed a happy childhood with his parents in their manor until Professor Clover caused their deaths in a plane crash. This tragedy led to his adoption and training by the legendary phantom thief Silver Heart, alongside fellow apprentices Diamond Queen and Spade (then known as King). A traumatic incident occurred during his youth when he encountered siblings Cyan and Rose. Attempting to protect Rose from attackers, he was shot, leaving a distinctive scar across his left eye. Cyan sustained severe injuries and fell into a lake, while Rose vanished after using her powers to destroy a bridge. Joker initially believed both siblings had perished, an event that deeply affected him. He later completed his formal education at the Phantom Thief Academy, graduating with Queen, Spade, and the genetically modified dog Roko.

His personality mixes childlike playfulness with situational maturity. He displays laziness in daily chores and disorganization, yet exhibits high intelligence, a photographic memory, and masterful trickery during heists. He possesses a sadistic streak, taking pleasure in psychologically manipulating and outwitting opponents through elaborate mind games, though he maintains limits on cruelty. Despite his profession as a thief, he demonstrates compassion and loyalty, often aiding innocents threatened by criminals or rivals. He upholds a moral code by refusing to harm bystanders and occasionally collaborating with others for the greater good, despite typically preferring to work alone. He deeply appreciates his partner Hachi's cooking, especially curry and hamburg steak, which he considers the "best in Japan".

Key relationships shape his life. Hachi serves as his loyal ninja apprentice and primary partner, managing domestic tasks and providing steadfast mission support. His dynamic with Spade is intensely competitive, marked by mutual respect and recurring clashes over treasures. Diamond Queen evolved from a fellow apprentice under Silver Heart to his eventual romantic partner and wife. His mentor, Silver Heart, provided foundational training and surrogate familial care, though their relationship included comedic elements like Joker's pranks and Silver Heart's frequent back injuries. Roko, the talking dog, remains a trusted companion since their youth. Antagonistically, Professor Clover represents his primary nemesis for orchestrating his parents' murder, while Shadow Joker (later revealed as Cyan) emerges as a rival with a shared history of loss.

He utilizes specialized equipment for heists. His mask integrates "Joker Vision", a visor detecting traps and dangers. "Image Gum" allows him to transform into any person or object previously seen, mimicking shape and appearance for approximately five minutes. An anime-exclusive variant, "Balloon Gum", functions similarly for inflation-based disguises. His primary transportation includes the versatile "Road Joker" car, capable of land and water travel, and the "Sky Joker" blimp for aerial operations. He employs playing cards as both projectiles and tools, alongside other devices like sleeping powder cookies and image cards for deception.

His story extends beyond the main series. In the sequel manga "Kaitou Shounen Jokers", set 20 years later, he marries Diamond Queen and fathers two children: a son named J and an unnamed baby daughter. He elevates Hachi to full-fledged phantom thief status. While J trains under Hachi on Earth, Joker, Queen, and their daughter embark on cosmic treasure hunts aboard Phoenix's spaceship. This future depicts him balancing familial responsibilities with his enduring passion for thievery, showcasing his evolution from a solitary trickster to a mentor and family figure.
