Description
Ryōhei Sudō is an 18-year-old male student in Suginami Second High School's 3rd year F Class. Standing 178.3 cm tall and weighing 59 kg, he has black hair, brown eyes, blood type A, and a July 20 birthday under the Cancer sign. His father and brother died in a childhood accident, leaving his mother as his sole family and emotional support. His closest friend and academic rival was Tōjūrō Yagihashi, with whom he shared deep trust, though they typically used formal last names, resorting to first names only once during court. This stability shattered when both his mother and Tōjūrō were killed by the game's mastermind Kōtei (The Emperor), igniting his relentless drive for vengeance regardless of cost.
Academically recognized as a genius who achieved first place in national tests, his defining trait is the "Power of Assumption" – an extraordinary mental capacity enabling him to conceptualize complex scenarios beyond ordinary reasoning, uncover hidden secrets, formulate intricate strategies, and identify threats like traitors. He holds the "Kakuhoken" (Securing Privilege), which paradoxically grants no special rights. Instead, he transforms its associated risks into mental fortitude, rendering him immune to insanity and allowing rapid psychological recovery even after severe trauma or injury. His analytical approach is ruthlessly efficient and forward-thinking.
During the initial conflict against Kōtei, while gathering intelligence alone, he suffered critical injuries from Hisoka Midō. Presumed dead after conveying vital information to ally Saneatsu Narita, he was buried by teacher Sōtarō Shinozaki. His apparent death was later revealed as suspension via a specialized privilege. He was discovered alive by Tōjūrō Yagihashi—under unclear circumstances—and underwent extensive medical treatment for his wounds. Revived, he resumed his role as the group's primary strategist against Kōtei, leveraging his resilience and intellect to coordinate efforts without succumbing to psychological toll. His interactions remain predominantly formal, consistently using last names, reflecting his disciplined demeanor.
