Description
Nagisa Tsukimiyama is a guitarist who serves as a member of the unit RONDO within the D4DJ franchise, first appearing in the anime D4DJ First Mix. She grew up in a family that loved rock music, which influenced her choice of instrument and her musical style. Her path to joining the group began when she was looking for a place to practice and came across the club where Aoi Miyake, a fellow RONDO member, was performing as a DJ. This encounter led her to become part of the unit, and she also frequently visits the house of Hiiro Yano, another member, further cementing her place in the group.

In personality, Nagisa is generally shy, especially around strangers, but she holds friendship above all else and will not hesitate to take a firm stand when the situation calls for it. Once she trusts someone, she becomes noticeably more open, warm, and even playful. Examples of this include her friendly interactions with Saori Hidaka from the unit Merm4id during a joint hot spring trip, and her playful teasing of Tsubaki Aoyagi about her tsundere tendencies. Despite her usually reserved demeanor, Nagisa can be scatterbrained and impulsive at times, such as forgetting to finish assignments or ad-libbing guitar solos that speed up unexpectedly during RONDO’s performances.

Her motivations are rooted in a genuine love for music and a desire to express herself through her guitar. As the only character in the franchise who is positioned primarily as an instrumental musician rather than a DJ or electronic music producer, she brings a distinct organic rock element to RONDO’s dramatic, aesthetic sound. She also has a hobby of crafting accessories, and in the story it is revealed through Kyoko Yamate that Nagisa is the one who made accessories for Rinku Aimoto, the protagonist of Happy Around!, showing her thoughtful and helpful side.

Key relationships within the story include her bond with her RONDO bandmates: Tsubaki Aoyagi, Hiiro Yano, and Aoi Miyake. Her dynamic with Tsubaki is particularly notable for its lighthearted teasing, while her friendship with Aoi dates back to her early search for a practice space. Her connection with Kyoko from Peaky P-key also highlights her role as a skilled accessory maker. Over the course of the series and subsequent seasons, Nagisa gradually becomes more comfortable in her own skin, balancing her shy nature with the assertiveness needed to support her unit and her friends. Her development is marked by moments where she overcomes her hesitation, both on stage and in personal interactions, to become a reliable and expressive member of the group.

In terms of notable abilities, Nagisa is a highly skilled guitarist capable of both precise playing and impulsive, energetic improvisation. Her musical instincts sometimes lead to risky but exciting solos during live performances. Her talent for crafting accessories is also recognized as a distinctive skill within the cast. Physically, she has a small stature and often dresses in a boyish, casual style in daily life, though her stage costumes retain a feminine touch. Her overall role in the story is to provide the instrumental grounding for RONDO’s gothic, rock-infused identity and to grow alongside her peers as they pursue their musical ambitions.
