Description
Jyushimatsu Matsuno is the fifth son of the Matsuno sextuplets. His name originates from "Jyushimatsu," the Japanese term for the Bengalese finch, and incorporates the kanji for "fourteen" (十四) and "pine" (松), forming a dual pun.

In early childhood depictions within *Osomatsu-kun*, Jyushimatsu appeared docile, gentle, and reserved. Later official descriptions characterized him as noisy, talkative, and skilled at singing. The CR *Osomatsu-kun* pachinko game resolved this contradiction, describing him as quiet yet loving to sing. As a child, he was often portrayed as kind, friendly, obedient, and gullible, making him easily manipulated and vulnerable to coercion. He occasionally expressed insecurity about his lack of distinctiveness among his brothers, feeling overlooked due to his perceived weak presence. His appearance was nearly identical to his siblings, though purple or green sometimes served as his theme color.

During his teenage years, notably in the *Osomatsu-san* movie from ages 16 to 18, Jyushimatsu adopted a delinquent persona. He presented a tough, crude exterior with narrowed eyes and a bitter expression, though this was a facade; he reverted to his naturally happy demeanor when alone. His distinct appearance included a single cowlick (instead of twins), an untucked uniform shirt, and unzipped pants that sometimes exposed his buttocks. This phase involved behaviors like pretending to smoke invisible cigarettes and acting outlandishly, an attempt to differentiate himself.

As an adult in *Osomatsu-san*, Jyushimatsu's appearance is distinct: a wide-open, smiling mouth, one cowlick, a yellow hoodie with sleeves covering his hands, blue swim shorts, and white socks. His personality is highly energetic, childlike, and eccentric, often described as existing "in another dimension." He is the most prone to reality-warping actions, like spontaneously multiplying or generating muscle growth. Despite his whimsical nature, he displays moments of extreme anger, particularly in cold, and unpredictable, illogical behavior. An example of hidden complexity is his annual tradition of staying up on Christmas to capture Santa Claus by tying him up. He also experienced a brief romantic relationship that ended with heartbreak after the girl's departure.

Jyushimatsu shares close bonds with his brothers, particularly Ichimatsu. As children, they were frequently paired in mischief, like guarding gates or hiding together. In adulthood, their relationship includes mutual support, such as Jyushimatsu assisting Ichimatsu in finding a lost cat. He also interacts regularly with Karamatsu, Choromatsu, and Todomatsu, participating in group activities and occasional conflicts, though these dynamics are less emphasized.

Jyushimatsu's development across media shows a shift from an interchangeable background figure to a multifaceted individual. His evolution involves reconciling inherent happiness with societal expectations during his teenage years and embracing his eccentricity as an adult, though he remains challenged by social integration. His background as a newborn depicted him smiling while his brothers slept.
