Description
Liliha is Princess of Atland, a nation clinging to the base of Orbital Spire Trees on the harsh Snow Sea surface world. Her mother succumbed to illness in her childhood, leaving her father as Atland's ruler. Severe water shortages plague the Snow Sea, threatening Atland's survival and making it a target for invasions by the militant nation of Valghia, desperate to seize water resources.

Driven by duty to save her people, Liliha embarks on a perilous ascent to the organic Canopy membrane high above the Snow Sea. She seeks the mythical Sage, rumored capable of creating water—a legend born when humans first settled the planet, claiming the Sage withdrew to the Canopy after human conflicts birthed the Snow Sea. Visions of a mysterious entity called Light partly informed her knowledge of the Canopy's existence.

During the climb, a Valghian ambush separates Liliha from her guards. She is rescued by Kaina, a Canopy inhabitant. Learning the Sage does not exist, Liliha accepts the villagers' decision for Kaina to escort her back down. Their descent involves evading Valghian forces and surviving environmental hazards, including collapsing trees. Sharing details of her world, its legends, and her personal history with Kaina fosters a bond of mutual reliance.

Upon reaching the Snow Sea, Valghian soldiers capture Liliha. Demonstrating strategic leadership and concern for others, she orders her retainer Orinoga to prioritize Kaina's safety over her own rescue during the confrontation, sacrificing her freedom for those aiding her mission.

Subsequent events forge peace between Atland and Valghia. Yet the existential threat of the expanding Snow Sea remains. Liliha joins Kaina on a critical expedition beyond the great oceanic trench toward the central Orbital Spire Tree. This voyage seeks the planet's core mysteries and a sustainable future, reflecting her commitment to confronting global-scale challenges beyond political conflicts.

Her character development culminates in this journey addressing the root causes of the dying planet's condition, extending her role from princess protecting her nation to key participant in a mission determining the fate of all civilizations dependent on the Orbital Spire Trees.
