Description
Yuta Hibiki is a Repli-Compoid, a human-like entity created by Akane Shinjo using her Venoras within the simulated city of Tsutsujidai in the Computer World. Unlike other residents, he operates free from Akane's complete programming, leading Gridman to choose him as a host and partner. Before the main events, a splintered fragment of Gridman entered Yuta's body following the Hyper Agent's defeat by Alexis Kerib. This rendered the real Yuta dormant, induced amnesia, and allowed the fragment to assume his identity, believing itself the true Yuta Hibiki. The truth emerges when Akane stabs him, triggering a coma. The awakened real Yuta later absolves Gridman of guilt over the unintended possession, recognizing it as an uncontrollable circumstance.

Physically, Yuta possesses cinnabar-red hair featuring two horn-like protrusions and blue eyes that shift permanently yellow after his initial transformation with Gridman. His signature outfit includes a short-sleeved white shirt, a red tie, a dark gray sleeveless sweater with a red neckline stripe, black pants, and distinctive sneakers with black soles and jagged red and white designs. A red armband with black stripes conceals the Primal Acceptor, the device enabling fusion with Gridman. He briefly dons a female "sailor fuku" uniform during the school festival.

His personality centers on a strong sense of justice and selflessness, prioritizing the protection of friends and the city over his own safety, aligning with predecessor Naoto Sho's assessment of him as "normal but not a bad guy." While less socially active than peers like Sho Utsumi or Rikka Takarada, he forms meaningful connections and expresses surprise at the friendships his possessed self cultivated. The real Yuta displays greater emotional vulnerability, including insecurity about combat inexperience and persistent anxiety over Rikka potentially rejecting his romantic feelings. He enjoys drama shows and demonstrates understanding, particularly in forgiving Gridman.

His primary ability originates from the Primal Acceptor, allowing him to merge with Gridman via the "Access Flash" command near the computer Junk. This fusion grants Gridman physical form to battle kaiju, though it is time-limited (approximately 10 minutes) and requires size reduction to prevent overheating Junk's systems. As a Repli-Compoid freed from programming, Yuta can perceive concealed Venoras and Gridman within Junk, an ability later passively shared with Rikka and Utsumi. He originally shared a telepathic link with Gridman, attributed to hosting the Hyper Agent's fragment.

During later events, Yuta enters his second year of high school but is placed in a different class from Rikka and Utsumi due to academic struggles. He grapples with discomfort over the closeness his possessed self fostered with Rikka and actively strives to confess his feelings, remaining unaware that his crush is already known to her and others. His resolve intensifies when rumors surface about Rikka dating an older boy, later revealed to be her brother. Facing new kaiju threats, he willingly reunites with Gridman, exhibiting heightened heroic willpower, notably a readiness for self-sacrifice to restore Gridman that distresses Rikka. By the story's conclusion, he and Rikka become an official couple.

Key relationships encompass his unrequited-then-romantic feelings for Rikka Takarada, his close friendship with Sho Utsumi (who knows Rikka is aware of Yuta's feelings), and his complex dynamic with creator Akane Shinjo as her creation and would-be savior. He also bonds outside Tsutsujidai, including with Kaworu Nagisa and Shinji Ikari, whom he admires.

Trivia notes include his habit of pouring cereal before milk. Design elements reference Classics Cliffjumper, such as his backpack resembling the "Wave Crusher" accessory and his shoes mirroring the character's vehicle mode. His surname "Hibiki" is a likely homage to *Kamen Rider Hibiki*.
