Description
Wolfgang Mittermeyer, born 30 August 768 UC (459 IC / 3568 CE) to a middle-class family, leveraged military academy enrollment to ascend the Galactic Empire’s rigid hierarchy. In his youth, he formed a bond with Evangelin, an orphaned maternal relative, initiating a courtship in 785 UC (476 IC / 3585 CE) that culminated in their 792 UC (483 IC / 3592 CE) marriage, witnessed by close friend Oskar von Reuenthal. Their friendship originated in 789 UC (480 IC / 3589 CE) when Mittermeyer aided Reuenthal during a bar fight against military police harassing a subordinate, forging an unbreakable alliance.

Rising swiftly through military ranks due to tactical ingenuity and principled conduct, Mittermeyer served as a captain at Odin’s Ministry of War in 794 UC (485 IC / 3594 CE) alongside Reuenthal. His unyielding ethics provoked noble hostility after executing a nobleman for murdering a civilian, leading to imprisonment and assassination threats. Reuenthal secured his release by enlisting Reinhard von Lohengramm’s aid, aligning both with Reinhard’s faction.

In the Imperial Civil War (797 UC / 488 IC / 3597 CE), Mittermeyer spearheaded decisive victories. He shattered Admiral Staaden’s forces at Altena through tactical minefield deployment and collaborated with Reuenthal to capture Rentenburg Fortress by exploiting Commander Ovlesser’s rigidity. Dubbed the “Gale Wolf” for rapid-strike tactics, his leadership against the Lippstadt League cemented his status as one of Reinhard’s “Twin Pillars” alongside Reuenthal.

Elevated to Fleet Admiral post-Reinhard’s ascension, Mittermeyer commanded the Space Fleet and orchestrated critical operations, including seizing the Imperial Seal during Klaus von Lichtenlade’s coup. During Reuenthal’s rebellion, he implored Reinhard to hear Reuenthal’s defense, threatening resignation unless advisors Oberstein and Lang were removed. Foiled in his attempt to assassinate Lang by Ulrich Kesler, he later confronted Reuenthal’s forces, ending the revolt. Adopting Reuenthal’s orphaned son Felix, he preserved his friend’s legacy despite childlessness with Evangelin.

Balancing personal integrity with familial devotion, Mittermeyer emerged as a stabilizing force after Reinhard’s death, remaining the sole survivor of the original faction that propelled the Kaiser’s rise. His leadership during the Battle of Shiva, following Reinhard’s sudden collapse, reinforced his enduring influence within the Empire’s military hierarchy.
