Description
Frederica Greenhill, born February 19, 774 UC, was the daughter of Free Planets Alliance Admiral Dwight Greenhill. At fourteen during the Imperial invasion of El Facil in 788 UC, she encountered Sub-lieutenant Yang Wen-li leading the civilian evacuation after senior officers fled. She offered him coffee when he choked on food; he responded by stating a preference for tea. This initial meeting left a lasting impression, though Yang later apologized for his remarks when they reunited eight years afterward.
She graduated salutatorian from the Free Planets Alliance Officer Academy in 794 UC, possessing an exceptional eidetic memory enabling precise recall of events and details. Admiral Alex Cazerne recommended her as Yang Wen-li's adjutant following his command of the newly formed 13th Fleet after the Battle of Astarte. Initially holding the rank of sub-lieutenant, she served as his aide throughout subsequent campaigns, including the FPA Civil War where she opposed her father after he joined the National Salvation Military Council coup.
Before the Battle of Vermillion, Yang proposed marriage and she accepted. Following the Alliance's surrender, both resigned from military service and married shortly afterward. Their anticipated peace shattered within a year when Alliance authorities, pressured by the Galactic Empire, arrested Yang. She participated in his rescue, personally shooting an officer attempting to execute him, and resumed her role as his adjutant during the ensuing campaign.
After the Battle of the Corridor, incapacitated by fatigue-related illness, she could not accompany Yang to negotiations with Kaiser Reinhard von Lohengramm. Following Yang's assassination, she accepted the position of political representative for the Iserlohn Republic, supporting Julian Mintz as military commander. She expressed a personal sentiment that she would have preferred democracy's demise over Yang's death.
Early in her military career, her physical agility was noted, including a reputation for swiftly slapping those who offended her, though she consciously moderated this behavior to conform to military expectations of femininity. She later served as a role model for junior officers such as Katerose von Kreutzer.
