He wears a red-orange suit, yellow gloves, boots, and a brown cape that enables flight, while his body remains concealed. His bread head is vulnerable to moisture, mold, and physical damage, but Uncle Jam can restore it. A transparent helmet protects him in damp environments, and damage to his cape incapacitates him until Batako repairs it. Anpanman possesses superhuman strength and uses signature moves like the An-punch and An-kick. His sharp hearing can detect cries for help from great distances. His rival Baikinman, a germ-themed troublemaker born the same day, often challenges him, though their clashes sometimes lead to unexpected cooperation. Allies include Currypanman, Shokupanman, and Melonpanna, and he shares a close bond with Uncle Jam, Batako-san, and Cheese, a dog he rescued.
