Description
Melonpanna originates from melon bread baked at Uncle Jam's bakery and serves as one of Anpanman's key allies. Her design features a dark green uniform, light green gloves, boots, and belt, plus a distinctive cape with a green exterior and orange interior. Her face shows large green eyes, a small green nose, three diagonal crossing lines, and two small orange hollow diamonds positioned at its sides. A cursive "m" insignia marks her chest.

She demonstrates kindness, gentleness, and sensitivity, showing deep care for others. Occasionally clever, she enjoys companionship with Cheese, the dog from Uncle Jam's bakery. When facing danger, she typically relies on rescue from allies like Anpanman or calls out to her sister Rollpanna if isolated.

Her primary ability is the "Melo-Melo Punch," a special attack that paralyzes adversaries with affection rather than harm and can awaken individuals from deep sleep. She also produces "Melo-Melo Juice," droplets squeezed from her head that cure allies affected by Baikinman's darkening tricks. This ability has limitations when Rollpanna's good heart power is compromised. Like other core heroes, she flies using her cape.

Family defines key aspects of her background. Rollpanna is her older sister, who possesses dual hearts—a red heart of goodness and a blue heart of evil induced by Baikinman. Due to this condition, Rollpanna wanders alone to avoid triggering her evil side, resulting in infrequent meetings that cause Melonpanna persistent loneliness. Creampanda, whose head is a cream bun, is her younger foster brother.

Within the narrative of "Soreike! Anpanman: Ningyo Hime no Namida," Melonpanna appears as part of the supporting cast alongside other heroes. Her role remains consistent with her broader characterization across the franchise, contributing through her established abilities and relationships without unique deviations specific to this film. This portrayal extends to her appearance in "Soreike! Anpanman: Yōsei Rinrin no Himitsu" (The Secret of Fairy Rin-Rin), where she similarly functions within her defined heroic capacity.
