Description
Hailing from the Baikin Planet, Baikinman crash-lands on Earth as an egg that cracks open the day Anpanman is born, establishing them as eternal rivals embodying moral dualism. Obsessed with toppling Anpanman and reshaping Earth into a "Germ World," he unleashes chaos through petty theft, bullying, and grandiose schemes. His fly-like form—a furry black body, shimmering pink eyes, jagged tail, and membranous wings—echoes Beelzebub, the demonic "Lord of the Flies," while a slithering blue tongue and purple lips accentuate his grotesque charm.

Beneath his villainous bravado lies contradiction. Though consumed by his purpose to destroy Anpanman, he sporadically hesitates, as seen in the 2018 film *Shine! Kulun and the Stars of Life*, where he rescues Anpanman yet scorns tasting his head to preserve pride. Alternate stories hint at fleeting truces, though his tenacity ensures schemes resurface despite perpetual failure.

Relationships deepen his duality. He pines for Dokin-chan, his mischievous accomplice oblivious to his affections as she pursues Shokupanman. His creations rebel: Franken Robo Kun, a gentle robot whose accidental shocks repel Baikinman despite latent attachment, and Rollpanna, infected with bacteria grass to turn her against Anpanman, yet her awareness thwarts his control.

Arrogant, impulsive, and ravenous, he boasts the title of "genius scientist," crafting elaborate machines doomed by flawed designs. Rare vulnerability surfaces in tender exchanges with Franken Robo Kun or wistful musings about ordinary life, as hinted by creator Takashi Yanase.

Soap weakens him, shrinking his form to insect size, while his germ-centric existence clashes with a compulsive need for cleanliness. Storylines like *Happy no Daibōken* (2005) reveal cunning opportunism—exploiting a disenchanted ally’s lost faith to unleash Gringa, a devouring maggot. Similarly, *Kuroyukihime to motemote Baikinman* (2005) sees him ally with the mischief-obsessed princess Kuroyukihime, only for their partnership to collapse under Anpanman’s intervention.

Across tales, Baikinman oscillates between unrelenting malice and fragile humanity, his legacy etched in rivalry, unintended frailty, and the lingering shadow of redemption.
