Taiga Fujimura is an English teacher and homeroom instructor at Homurahara Academy, overseeing the archery dojo. Her energetic, cheerful personality earns her the nickname “Tiger”—a pun on her Japanese name she vehemently opposes. Following Kiritsugu Emiya’s death, she becomes Shirou Emiya’s legal guardian, adopting a protective older-sister role and frequently joining him and Sakura Matou for meals at their home. Granddaughter of a local Yakuza patriarch, she maintains a deliberate distance from her family’s underworld ties. A kendo expert with a black belt, she wields the Tora-Shinai, a bamboo sword adorned with a tiger-patterned strap that bars it from official competitions. Though skilled, she suffers repeated defeats against Saber in the “Fate” route, compelling her to grudgingly concede Shirou’s protection to the Servant. In “Unlimited Blade Works,” she is briefly taken hostage by Caster during a confrontation with Shirou and Saber, though the incident leaves no lasting memory. The “Heaven’s Feel” route sees her role diminish as increased responsibilities after a colleague’s death limit her visits to Shirou’s household. Her relationship with Shirou balances comedic friction with sincere care, often sparking mock frustration when other women encroach on his life. She co-hosts the Tiger Dojo, a tongue-in-cheek tutorial feature in the visual novel, with Illyasviel von Einzbern, advising players after in-game failures. Though peripheral to the Holy Grail War’s central conflicts, her grounded presence highlights the contrast between mundane normality and the story’s supernatural stakes, anchoring Shirou to his ordinary world.
