Description
Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu features as a historical figure in "Ikkyū-san to Yancha-hime," ruling as the third shōgun of the Ashikaga shogunate during Japan's Muromachi period. He embodies the era's political authority. His status faces direct challenge when a tomboyish princess adopts the male name Tsuyumaru and confronts him physically with a wooden sword. This defiance against the shogun underscores the period's strict social expectations and highlights the princess's unconventional behavior. The confrontation compels protagonist Ikkyū to intervene, tasked with persuading the princess toward traditional conduct to prevent escalating consequences.
