TV-Series
Description
Kō Yukina works at Marimo Books, managing the shōjo manga section while studying oil painting as a fourth-year student at Tōto University of the Arts. Originally from Sapporo, Hokkaido, he stands 186 cm tall, weighs about 66 kg, and has light brown hair, hazel eyes, and multiple ear piercings—four on his left ear and one on his right. At work, he wears a white long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, and a dark blue apron decorated with charms and his name tag. Outside work, he often wears a long green overcoat with a fur-lined hood or a beanie. He uses a paint-stained jumpsuit for painting and ties his hair in a ponytail with barrettes at home.

Yukina exhibits optimism, kindness, and proactivity, tempered by significant stubbornness. He leverages his popularity, especially with female customers, to boost manga sales without arrogance. He enjoys cooking, taught by his friend Rio Kojima, and his hobbies include reading, visiting museums, and drawing. His art is influenced by Klimt, Vermeer, Sargent, Hammershøi, and Waterhouse. Romantically, he harbors deep insecurities, showing possessiveness and jealousy within his relationship.

Yukina's primary relationship is with Shōta Kisa, an editor at Marukawa Publishing. He first noticed Kisa observing him at the bookstore, initially mistaking Kisa for a high schooler. After Yokozawa Takafumi introduced them formally, Yukina learned Kisa edits his favorite manga. He initiated a kiss during a café meeting and later confessed his feelings, aware of Kisa’s earlier visits. Kisa’s insecurities about their age difference and Yukina’s popularity lead Yukina to constantly reassure him. A major conflict erupts when Kisa tries to break up by phone over a misunderstanding; Yukina confronts him at his apartment, slaps him upon finding him near another man, and refuses the breakup. During this confrontation, Yukina articulates understanding Kisa’s work stress while demanding more time together, disclosing personal details to strengthen their bond. Though bothered by Kisa’s past promiscuity, Yukina insists on exclusivity moving forward.

His friendship with Rio Kojima, a university peer from the fashion department, involves cooking lessons and movie outings. They briefly dated in their first year but transitioned to a platonic dynamic. Rio’s closeness often triggers Kisa’s jealousy, though Yukina maintains their relationship is non-romantic. Rio remains unaware of Yukina’s relationship with Kisa, inadvertently fueling conflicts.

Yukina has an older brother, Mikado Yukina, a firefighter to whom he feels constantly compared. Mikado initially doubted Yukina’s artistic career but later offered support after witnessing Yukina’s genuine connection with Kisa. Yukina also respects Yokozawa Takafumi, seeking his advice and learning through him that Kisa edits his favorite manga.

Throughout the series, Yukina evolves from a proactive but emotionally guarded individual to someone openly confronting relational challenges. He demonstrates resilience by addressing Kisa’s insecurities directly and balances his artistic ambitions with dedication to their relationship, striving to succeed independently without familial comparisons.
