Description
Jade, known as Jäger in the English dub, is a German Seigi Choujin and a prominent member of the New Generation introduced in the sequel series. Standing at 187 centimeters tall and weighing 93 kilograms, the seventeen-year-old fighter is nicknamed the Green Arrow of Berlin, a title reflected in his distinctive costume consisting of a green uniform and a bicyclist's helmet.

Jade's origin story is marked by tragedy. An orphan who never knew his biological parents, he was raised by a kind elderly German couple. This happiness was shattered when anti-Choujin thugs murdered his adoptive parents while he was out running an errand. Their dying wish for him to live an honest life became the driving force behind his decision to become a protector of those who cannot defend themselves. Seeking to fulfill this promise, he sought out Brocken Jr., the most powerful Choujin in Germany. Brocken was initially living as a drunk and unmotivated, but Jade's demonstration of his natural strength and the purity of his motivations convinced the legendary fighter to sober up and take the boy on as his student. Jade refers to Brocken Jr. with the German honorific Lehrer, meaning teacher.

Jade is generally portrayed as a cheerful and optimistic individual, though this is balanced by a serious and resolute demeanor when his sense of justice or the safety of his friends is threatened. He possesses a strong belief in the best of people, a trait that sometimes puts him at a disadvantage, particularly in his complex relationship with his fellow Hercules Factory graduate, Scarface. His loyalty to his comrades is paramount, and he has demonstrated a willingness to risk a match victory to help a friend in need. A recurring humorous element in the series is a lighthearted love triangle, as the character Rinko Nikaido harbors romantic feelings for both Jade and the series protagonist, Mantaro Kinnikuman.

As a student of Brocken Jr., Jade inherited several devastating techniques. His signature move is the Red Rain of Berlin, a high-speed hand-blade attack that slices the opponent. He also utilizes the Beefcake Hammer, a leaping suplex performed by trapping the opponent's arms and leg, and the SSD, a vertical suplex lift followed by a piledriver. In situations where he is unable to use his primary technique, he can perform the Brocken's Repatriation, a move taught to him by his master that requires him to bind his left arm behind his back and transform his left leg into a giant sickle. Additional techniques featured in supplemental manga material include the Helm Schwanz, where his helmet ridge extends to strike an opponent, and the Kreis Schild, a shield that emerges from his arm protector.

Jade is introduced as a top graduate of the Hercules Factory and a member of Generation EX, a group of elite fighters intended to be the successors to the legendary Muscle League. His relationship with Brocken Jr. is a central part of his character and is considered a deeply respectful and functional father-son dynamic. In the English adaptation of the anime, this relationship is made literal, with Jade being explicitly revealed to be Brocken Jr.'s biological son, a detail that differs from the original Japanese manga. His relationships with his peers are also significant; he shares a camaraderie with fighters like Terry the Kid, with whom he has formed tag teams, and his friendship and rivalry with Scarface form a major part of his narrative arc, demonstrating his capacity for both anger and forgiveness. Throughout the series, Jade's path is marked by a struggle to live up to his master's teachings and the promise he made to his adoptive parents, defining him as a young champion whose strength is inextricably tied to his personal convictions and his bonds with others.
