Description
Jade is a German New Generation Chojin, first appearing with Generation EX. Nicknamed "Berlin's Green Arrow" for his green uniform and bicyclist helmet marked with a "J," he bears two lightning-shaped facial marks, absent in some childhood art. Orphaned from infancy, he was raised by an elderly German couple. Their murder by an anti-superhuman group in 2009, while Jade bought groceries, drove him to seek training from Germany's strongest Chojin, Brocken Jr. Their first meeting found Brocken Jr. a disinterested drunk, but Jade's innate strength convinced him to train the young fighter.
Their rigorous seven-year training included karate-chopping scalding cauldrons to master the Red Rain of Berlin, performing reverse push-ups with Brocken Jr. on his back, and running through rain while dragging a temple bell. During this period, a local butcher couple provided Jade encouragement and free sausages, his favorite food. Brocken Jr., called "Lehrer" by Jade, became pivotal in his life. Discovering Jade's adoptive parents' dying wish for their son to live honestly and protect the weak deepened their bond, leading Brocken Jr. to dedicate himself to fulfilling that wish. An English adaptation uniquely depicted Brocken Jr. as Jade's biological father.
Jade enrolled at the Hercules Factory as a second-semester graduate alongside Clioneman, Dead Signal, and Scarface. Initially reserve fighters for the Muscle League, they replaced the incompetent first-semester graduates. Jade proved his power by defeating the legendary Buffaloman in five minutes using his SSD (Vertical Suplex Piledriver) during final tests. Deployed to Japan, he confronted Mantaro Kinniku to warn about replacement matches. Generation Ex then fought the Hercules Factory graduates to retain their roles as Earth's defenders. Jade faced Gazelleman at Yokohama International Stadium in the first round. He humiliated Gazelleman for poor fitness but lost focus after dropping a skull accessory memento from Brocken Jr., suffering severe attacks. He ultimately won using the Red Rain of Berlin, though Brocken Jr. criticized him for revealing the signature move early.
Jade's loyalty and idealism often clashed with Scarface. He protested Scarface's brutal, dishonorable tactics against Terry the Kid and later punched Scarface for mocking Clioneman's defeat. This friction led to their semi-final match in a cement ring, triggering Brocken Jr.'s post-traumatic stress from his Concrete Death-Match against Ramenman. Empowered by the butcher couple's cheers, Jade gained the upper hand. Scarface manipulated the crowd to endorse cheating and falsely claimed Brocken Jr. orchestrated Jade's adoptive parents' murder. Enraged, Jade attacked with the Red Rain of Berlin, ignoring Brocken Jr.'s pleas. Scarface countered with the Beefcake Hammer, cracking Jade's helmet. The butcher couple intervened, revealing they witnessed Brocken Jr. at the gravesite swearing to uphold the parents' dying wish. Jade reconciled with Brocken Jr., but Scarface severed Jade's arm, forcing him to forfeit. Post-recovery, Jade competed in the Chojin Olympics, forming a tag team with Terry the Kid based on shared blonde heritage. Despite Scarface's betrayal, Jade held no lasting grudge, maintaining friendships with him, Terry the Kid, and others.
In combat, Jade employs technical wrestling and submission holds. His primary finishing moves are the Red Rain of Berlin (a high-impact flaming backhand chop taught by Brocken Jr.), the SSD, and the Beefcake Hammer (a bridging straight jacket suplex). Signature techniques include various kicks (drop, axe, rolling savate, roundhouse, spinning heel) and suplexes (capture, double underhook, exploder, German, overhead belly-to-belly), alongside locks like the ankle lock and cross armbreaker.
