Description
Flower is an obsolete model from the "Parents" line of domestic service androids. Discovered discarded near a trash heap during a rainstorm, she was non-functional and presumed beyond repair due to outdated components. After being taken home, she spontaneously activated overnight, awakening to independently prepare breakfast and demonstrating her core drive to assist humans despite her condition.
Damage to her memory core prior to activation erased all memories of previous ownership and purpose. This impairment also hinders short-term retention, compelling her to rely on a physical diary to record daily experiences. Flower's personality radiates persistent cheerfulness and energetic curiosity about the world, coupled with enthusiastic but tone-deaf singing.
She expressed a significant desire to witness the ocean firsthand, having only seen it on television. Her physical deterioration manifests through intermittent malfunctions and system instability, reflecting her mechanically fragile nature. The narrative depicts her forming a bond with her rescuer, where her presence and innocent perspective provided emotional support during his period of grief.
The character appears in the original doujin OVA (28 minutes runtime), the subsequent DVD release containing additional footage, and the expanded 34-minute theatrical film version which incorporated a new 7-minute 30-second side story. No other official media featuring this character has been documented.
