Description
Tama Inubozaki, known as the magical girl Tama, is a junior high student living in the temple district. As a human, she possesses short black hair partially tied in a small ponytail, dark brown eyes, and stands 155 cm tall, typically dressed in her school uniform. Shy and insecure, Tama struggles with low self-esteem due to her mother's constant unfavorable comparisons to her siblings. Her grandmother remains her sole supportive family member, valuing her inherent kindness.

Upon transformation, her appearance shifts: she gains reddish-brown hair, yellow eyes, a distinctive cowlick, and grows to 163 cm. Her costume features a light brown hood with dog ears, oversized paw gloves, a tail tipped white, a white top, shorts with a black belt, and polka-dotted stockings evoking a dalmatian coat. She cherishes the spiked collar and leash crafted and gifted by Ruler, viewing them as a symbol of belonging.

Tama's magic manifests holes—up to 1 meter wide and 5 meters deep—on any surface she physically scratches. Even minor scratches create this effect, which can be delayed as long as the target stays within her line of sight. The ability requires direct contact to initiate and fails on unscratched surfaces. Her capabilities are rated: Physical Ability 2/5, Communication Skill 2/5, Magic Rarity 3/5, Magic Experience 1/5, Mental Strength 1/5, Confidence 1/5.

Holding the lowest position within Team Ruler and perceived as its weakest member, Tama harbors deep loyalty towards Ruler for her patient teaching. She admires Swim Swim's intellect, affectionately calling her "Swim-chan," and maintains a friendly rapport with the Peaky Angels, Minael and Yunael, assisting them with promotional strategies like filming commercials. Her other interactions are limited: she abandoned an ambush on Snow White when detected and fled in terror from Hardgore Alice. Melville openly disdains her perceived weakness.

During the Cranberry confrontation, Tama intervenes to save Swim Swim, scratching Cranberry and activating her fatal hole magic. Shortly after, Swim Swim discovers Tama's human identity and betrays her, decapitating her to eliminate a witness.

The side story "It Happens from Time to Tama" explores her school life. Reluctantly paired with classmate Chihiro Kuwata for a project, Tama initially faces disdain. However, her expertise in the mobile game "Magical Girl Raising Project" (where she achieved max stats) and knowledge of soil composition and ammonite fossils gradually earn Chihiro's respect. When Chihiro faces harassment, Tama rescues her in magical girl form, strengthening their bond and inspiring Chihiro to aspire to become a magical girl.

Her name "Tama" (珠) means "bead, pearl, or gem," while her surname "Inubozaki" (犬吠埼) incorporates kanji for "dog," "bark," and "cape/promontory." This canine theme aligns with her magical girl design, humorously contrasting common Japanese cat naming conventions as noted in promotional material.
