TV-Series
Description
Operating under the alias Joe Okada, Jonathan Klondike runs the Solitaire shop, selling Cure Loveads. In this civilian guise, he wears a blue beach hat, white shirt with red shoulder lines, light brown pants, brown shoes, and a pink apron featuring heart-shaped pockets. He presents a generally sweet and happy demeanor, though often responds cryptically to questions, encouraging others to draw their own conclusions rather than giving direct answers. He shows particular care for Ai, a baby mascot born from an egg found by the main characters.

His true identity is Sir Jonathan Klondike, a knight from the Trump Kingdom (also called Splendorius) and the betrothed of Princess Marie Ange. As a knight, he dons silver armor, ties most of his blond hair into a ponytail, and wields a sword effective against dark energy. His backstory reveals service in Princess Marie Ange's guard and their engagement. Learning belatedly of the Jikochuu (Mercenares) invasion of the Trump Kingdom, he discovered the princess had been transported to Earth. He followed, adopting the Joe Okada persona to blend in during his search.

Key events define his journey:
* He supplies the initial Cure Loveads to Mana (Maya) and Rikka (Rachel), enabling their transformations into Pretty Cure warriors.
* He protects Mana and Ai during Bel's kidnapping attempt, suffering injuries requiring hospitalization.
* He reveals his knight identity in Episode 17 to rescue Cure Heart, disclosing his ties to the Trump Kingdom and Marie Ange.
* He recounts his past with Marie Ange, including archery sessions and exchanging letters accompanied by roses, demonstrating his devotion.
* He aids the Cures in locating the Royal Crystals and retrieving Marie Ange’s frozen form from the Jikochuu.

Following Marie Ange’s ultimate sacrifice—where her psyche splits into Regina and Aguri—Jonathan assumes guardianship of Ai. In the series finale, he becomes the first president of the newly formed Trump Republic, exchanging his knight attire for a black jacket, white shirt, and pink-striped tie.

Post-series, he confronts an impostor, Kurata, who nearly provokes an international conflict by masquerading as him. With aid from the Cures and Regina, Jonathan defeats Kurata and reclaims his leadership. He later experiences a brief reunion with Marie Ange’s spirit.

Trivia notes: His surname "Klondike" references the solitaire card game. He is addressed as "Jonathan" by Makoto (Mackenzie) and Aguri (Natalie), "President" by Alice (Clara), and "Okada" by Regina.
