Mihoshi Takamura is a teacher at Keishin Academy and the aunt of the protagonist Subaru Hasegawa. She is initially assigned as the adviser of the school's girls' elementary basketball team despite having no knowledge of the sport. To secure a competent coach, she blackmails her nephew by threatening to reveal embarrassing childhood photographs, compelling him to take on the coaching role. Mihoshi is characterized by a mischievous and free-spirited personality; she frequently plays pranks and tricks others, especially Subaru, often putting him in troublesome situations for her own amusement. Beneath this playful exterior, however, she is deeply caring and responsible, particularly toward the girls on the team and toward Subaru, acting as a supportive senior figure. Her genuine concern for the students' well-being is evident in her serious attitude when it comes to resolving their problems alongside the coach. She nurtures a strong rivalry with Ogasawara, the coach of the Keishin boys' basketball team. Over the course of the series, Mihoshi demonstrates personal growth by beginning to learn basketball herself in preparation for directly coaching the incoming fifth graders, showing her commitment to the team's future.
