Description
Airi Kashii attends sixth grade in class 6-C and serves on her school's bulletin placement committee. As the tallest and oldest member of her basketball team, standing 168 cm tall and born on April 5th, her height causes extreme shyness and sensitivity; any mention of it often triggers distress or tears. This physique is familial, with both her father and brother being tall and muscular, and her mother notably voluptuous and taller than average. Her brother, Banri Kashii, is a recognized local amateur basketball player who exhibits overprotective tendencies. The family operates a gym or sports club.

Airi's height complex initially hindered her basketball performance. Though naturally suited for the center position due to her physical advantages for rebounding, shot-blocking, and close-range shooting, the role emphasized her insecurities. To accommodate this, her coach deceived her into believing she played small forward, though she functionally remained the center. Her anxieties extended beyond basketball; she harbors aquaphobia stemming from a traumatic childhood experience, intensifying her aversion to water.

Through rigorous training alongside Aoi Ogiyama, a high school student and undersized center, Airi gradually overcame her height complex. This transformation made her pivotal to the team's "One Center, Four Shooter" offensive strategy. Her presence drew multiple defenders, creating open jump shots for teammates. Her playing style evolved into a face-up approach, facing the basket directly, which suited her gentle nature better than a traditional post-up game, highlighting her growing confidence and technical refinement.

Personally, Airi remains reserved and gentle, often the quietest among peers. Highly sensitive and easily unsettled, she requires consistent encouragement to build self-assurance. Despite her timidity, she deeply values friendships and demonstrates reliability in supporting others. Her journey reflects a shift from fragility toward gradual resilience, embracing her physical attributes as strengths.
