Description
Hardgore Alice, known as civilian Ako Hatoda, endured childhood trauma when her father murdered her mother, resulting in his imprisonment. She then resided with an aunt and uncle but viewed herself as a burden due to societal ostracism and her father's rejection during a prison visit. These emotions drove her to attempt suicide, halted only when Snow White, a magical girl, assisted her in finding a lost house key. Inspired by this act, Ako sought purpose by becoming a magical girl.
As Hardgore Alice, she fashioned herself as Snow White's dark counterpart, adopting a gothic Alice in Wonderland-style dress with black lace accents, a black choker, and Mary Jane shoes. Her transformed appearance featured long wavy black hair with bows and a headband, dark grey eyes with prominent circles, and black-painted nails. She perpetually carried a Snow White-resembling white rabbit plush. In her civilian identity, Ako wore short black pigtails and a pinafore school uniform.
Her personality projected emotional distance and monotony, rooted in extreme shyness and unresolved self-worth struggles. Despite near-invulnerability as a magical girl, she avoided overconfidence and stayed cautious. She exhibited fierce protectiveness, especially toward Snow White, and would employ lethal force against threats. Her core motivation was repaying Snow White's kindness and seeking validation through their partnership.
Hardgore Alice’s magic provided extensive regeneration, enabling survival and bodily reconstruction from any fragment—even after decapitation, acid dissolution, or incineration. However, her regeneration operated slowly, and sufficiently rapid damage could overwhelm it. She remained vulnerable without regenerative abilities in human form. Her possessions included a stuffed rabbit plush and the Lucky Rabbit’s Foot, a magical charm she gifted Snow White to attract fortune.
She participated in N-City’s deadly magical girl elimination game. During a battle, she saved Snow White by killing Magicaloid 44 after being decapitated, initially frightening Snow White. Persisting, Hardgore Alice allied with her, later forming a group alongside Sister Nana and Weiss Winterprison. She survived assassination attempts, notably by Calamity Mary, using her regenerative powers. Swim Swim later exposed her civilian identity, ambushing and fatally stabbing her untransformed form. Dying, she entrusted the Lucky Rabbit’s Foot to Snow White, declaring hope persisted while magical girls like her existed.
Her death profoundly impacted Snow White, who blamed herself for the sacrifice and vowed to strengthen herself. The Lucky Rabbit’s Foot subsequently saved Ripple’s life twice—first against Swim Swim and later against Pythie Frederica.
