Description
Raid Mirroring is a supporting character and antagonist in the anime I Couldn't Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job. He is a demon with black hair and black eyes who operates within the corporate world of the series rather than on the battlefield. His background is tied to the aftermath of the Demon King's defeat, an event that left the demon realm in collapse and stripped many demons of their sense of purpose. Raid is connected to Amada, the large rival magic appliance chain that competes directly with Magic Shop Leon, where the main characters work, and he is shown to be aligned with Amada's leadership.
Raid's central motivation concerns the future of the demons. While Amada itself pursues hard commercial goals, Raid is more preoccupied with what will become of demons in a world where their king is gone and their old way of life has been dismantled. He sees the answer in Fino Bloodstone, the daughter of the late Demon King. His goal is to steer her toward accepting her father's legacy and taking up the position of the next Demon Lord, and he works to manipulate her into that role rather than let her continue her ordinary life as a shop employee.
His role in the story is that of an antagonist who opposes the main characters from the corporate side. The opening of the Amada chain threatens the business of Leon, and Raid's schemes involving Fino place him in conflict with Raul Chaser and the rest of the store staff, who have come to accept Fino as a coworker and want to protect the life she has built. His most important relationship is therefore with Fino, whom he views primarily as a political and symbolic asset for the demon race, and through her he comes into opposition with her colleagues at Leon. His alliance with Amada's leadership is practical rather than identical in purpose, since his priorities center on the demons while the chain's priorities are economic.
Raid operates in a composed and calculating manner, working through influence and manipulation rather than direct confrontation. In the anime, his maneuvering to restore a Demon Lord drives much of the later conflict, forcing the Leon staff to deal with both a business rival and a threat to their newest employee. His notable abilities lie in this sphere of control, as he commands considerable resources and authority through his position within the Amada organization and draws on his demonic heritage to pursue his cause.
