OVA
Description
Hinata Okano, biologically born to Professor Akihito Narukaze alongside sisters Minamo Narukaze and Wakaba Fujimiya, is the adopted younger sister of Makoto Okano. After her adoptive father's death separated her from her biological sisters, she returned to Kazune City with Makoto following their mother’s disappearance, reconnecting with their shared past. Standing 153 cm tall, she sports vibrant red hair with spiky bangs and an ahoge, complemented by brown tareme-shaped eyes. Her typical attire includes a school uniform with a ribbon tie, and she often carries binoculars to observe her surroundings, especially a daily blimp that captivates her. Her slim, athletic build reflects an active lifestyle.

Energetic, curious, and mischievous, Hinata delights in playful pranks targeting Makoto, openly displaying a brother complex. She orchestrates situations for him to interact with Minamo and exclaims "Unyah~!" when distressed or in pain. Despite her carefree nature, she shows loyalty and occasional self-awareness about family bonds. She enjoys volleyball, cooking, shopping, and teasing others, particularly Makoto.

Hinata possesses the supernatural ability to leap higher than two-story buildings, common among Kazune City residents. Overusing this power—and crossing the town's protective barrier during a blimp chase—triggers a life-threatening condition: recurring fevers, fatigue, comas, and power loss known as the "sleeping disease." This crisis forces Makoto to confront their non-biological ties. A dream reveals their adoption, leading to a pivotal choice: embracing romance (resulting in mutual affection and intimacy) or maintaining siblinghood (worsening her illness). Her survival relies on external aid, like Hikari Tsukishiro’s medicine or a soul-transplant ritual where Hikari sacrifices herself to cure her. Post-recovery, memories of supernatural events fade; she addresses Makoto as "Makoto-san" if lovers or retains "oniichan" if siblings.

In the OVA continuity, she accompanies Makoto to Kazune City, encountering supernatural events tied to their parents’ history and a spectral girl linked to a mysterious harmonica. Her relationships include a complex dynamic with Makoto (blending dependence and protectiveness), recognition of Minamo’s feelings for him, and subtle biological connections to Minamo and Wakaba during their reunion.
