Kakushinni, Shinran Shōnin's youngest daughter, cared for him in his later years in Kyoto after his wife returned to Echigo. She maintained his mausoleum, and her descendants became hereditary leaders of the Honganji Temples. Her historical role alongside her mother Eshinni is recognized in the establishment of a professorial chair dedicated to women and Buddhist studies.
