Nadeshiko is one of the ten Inukami and originates from the same area as Yōko. She has formed a contract with Kaoru Kawahira, the cousin of the main protagonist Keita Kawahira. Her background includes a traumatic incident in which she lost herself in the frenzy of battle and nearly destroyed a human village. As a result of this event, she gave up her power to Heaven and for a time refused to fight or take a master until she met Kaoru. In stark contrast to most other Inukami, Nadeshiko initially appears pacifistic and regrets the vanquishing of spirits and monsters, showing a gentle and kind disposition. She is extremely loyal and protective of her pack, and she puts her life on the line to defend them even after being temporarily expelled due to her refusal to fight. Her personality is warm and caring, and she is notably perceptive, recognizing Keita's positive qualities from the very start. She and Kaoru share a special bond that occasionally sparks jealousy from her pack-mates. Nadeshiko's senses are keener than those of other Inukami, and Yōko has stated that she possesses a unique ability that the rest of her pack lacks. Despite her pacifism, she can stand up for her friends when necessary and will fight if the situation demands it. Physically, she has bright pink hair, green eyes, light skin, and a small blonde tail, and she is almost always seen wearing a maid's outfit. Her consistent maid attire and her reserved, empathic nature set her apart from the more boisterous members of her pack. Over the course of the story, Nadeshiko develops from a reluctant combatant into someone who will actively protect those she cares about, demonstrating that her commitment to her companions ultimately overrides her aversion to violence.
