Tamaki Kakegawa is a fifth-grade elementary school student whose life is dominated by penguins due to her father, Dr. Yagiyama, a penguin researcher. Constant exposure to the birds and her father's lengthy lectures breed a strong dislike for them within her. To counter this aversion, Dr. Yagiyama crafts Minori, a unique "penguinoid" merging penguin and android traits. Tamaki and Minori then tackle disturbances and complications around their neighborhood, often stemming directly from Dr. Yagiyama's penguin-related experiments and creations.
