Tokoha Anjou is an eighth-grade student sharing a class with Chrono Shindou and serving on Team TRY3 alongside Chrono and Shion Kiba. Her neon green Vanguard Circle accompanies a Neo Nectar deck, with Ranunculus Flower Maiden, Ahsha as her avatar card.
A level-headed honor student with a strong sense of justice, she frequently clashes with Chrono but gradually becomes more patient and friendly toward him. Her extensive Vanguard knowledge stems from her internationally renowned brother, Mamoru Anjou, dubbed the "Kagero Clan Leader." This connection burdens her with high expectations, fostering an inferiority complex that makes her avoid large tournaments and occasionally disrupt her cardfight focus through misplays. After defeating Mamoru in a match, she overcomes this psychological hurdle, demonstrating improved resilience.
Her background includes a childhood promise with close friend Akane Kiyosu, involving a time capsule buried under a riverside tree for exchange in adulthood. Years later, construction near the site prompts Akane to enlist Chrono for retrieval via a quest.
