He was chosen as a pilot for Apolon-derived robotic components, specifically commanding Legger, the legs segment of the combined super robot Dai Apolon. Beyond piloting Legger, Gorō operated UFO support craft in battle, executing tactical maneuvers and providing auxiliary fire against enemies.

To activate his transformation, Gorō shouted "U! F! O!", magically changing into his designated pilot uniform, a process shared by his team. His role within the unit was visually defined by a color-coded system, associating him with blue, prominently featured in attire like his football jersey.

His contributions centered on mechanical operation and combat support. He participated in sequences forming Dai Apolon and mounted defensive actions using both the Legger unit and support UFOs during General Dazaan's repeated incursions.
