Movie
Description
Mami Futami forms one half of the identical Futami twins with her sister Ami. Born on May 22, she shares Ami's brown hair, lilac eyes, height of 158 cm, weight of 42 kg, and measurements of 78-55-77. Her hairstyle, consistently tied on the left, serves as the sole distinguishing feature from Ami, who ties hers on the right. While initially introduced as the younger twin in early arcade versions, later media established her as the older sibling, lending her a marginally more mature demeanor than Ami. Both twins exhibit highly energetic and mischievous personalities, marked by a love for pranks, playful teasing, and imitation. Their antics frequently unleash chaos at 765 Production, though they comply readily when firmly addressed by the producer or staff.

The twins strictly guard their secret dual identity, performing publicly under the single name "Ami Futami" while alternating appearances for idol activities like stage performances, television appearances, and auditions. Only 765 Production staff and Takane Shijou, who deduced the truth by observing Mami's comparatively mature presence, know this arrangement. Their family includes their parents, with their mother's occasional overprotectiveness prompting the twins to seek temporary refuge at the 765 Production office.

Mami demonstrates near-perfect synchronous coordination with Ami in most activities. However, their schedules diverge when Ami joins the subunit Ryuuguu Komachi, reducing their shared professional engagements. Despite identical appearance and typically unified behavior, Mami cultivates individual interests like bonsai, tending to a tree named "Bonnosuke" – a hobby that contrasts with her playful nature. Like Ami, she uses informal speech, addressing others casually regardless of age or status until reprimanded. Both twins show particular respect for Takane and Kyoji Takajo ("Kyo-nii"), while displaying wariness toward Ritsuko Akizuki due to her disciplinary actions against their disruptions.

In *THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukōgawa e!*, Mami appears among the 765 Production idols supporting the main narrative focused on arena concert preparation, maintaining her established ensemble role without unique character development. Across various media, including games, anime series, OVAs, and spin-offs like *Puchimas!*, her portrayal remains consistent: a mischievous yet talented idol thriving in tandem with her twin while occasionally revealing unexpected personal interests.
