Baja is a small, hamster-like creature, resembling a badger mouse or a pandahamster, who resides in Kohata Anime Studio. Raised by the animation staff, he lives a fun and blissful daily life, often fawned over by the artists during their breaks. His best friend is a rubber duck named Ga-chan, who floats on a pond outside the studio, and their curious, innocent friendship is central to his existence. Baja observes the world with a constant sense of newborn wonder.

He originated as a character from an unproduced studio project called "Kanaka’s Magic Dream," eventually evolving to become one of the studio's official mascots. His experiences extend into the fantastical. At night, when the studio is empty, he encounters magical beings. On one occasion, he witnessed Ga-chan being attacked by a cat, prompting him to embark on a mysterious mission to rescue his friend, during which the studio’s own animation projects magically came to life to assist him.

In a subsequent adventure, a magical girl named Coco showed him the meekness of the ocean after the studio director’s wish made Baja wonder about such a place. An antagonistic entity named Gi intervened, creating a dangerous situation where Ga-chan was carried away by a treacherous current, testing Baja’s resolve and the strength of his bond. Through these encounters, Baja transitions from a passive observer to an active participant, driven by loyalty to his friend and an innate curiosity about the world beyond his immediate surroundings.
