Description
Atsushi Kamijō, a second-year student from Houshou Private High School, survives a plane crash only to become stranded on a dangerous island. He possesses a lean, tall build, shaved black hair featuring a distinctive 'X' design at the hairline, and black eyes. His attention to appearance is reflected in his typical attire: a black vintage-style aviator jacket with a cream-fur collar, a white t-shirt, dark green jeans adorned with silver balls on the right hip belt loops, black boots, and a gold chain necklace. This jacket is later removed following an attack by a giant insect.

Prior to the island, Kamijō held a reputation as a delinquent and shared a strong bond with his classmate Akira. The pair once fought off a group of at least seven boys together. As a token of their friendship, Kamijō gave Akira a keepsake piercing received from his own mother, symbolizing their mutual loyalty. During the survival ordeal, his volatile personality emerges, marked by a noticeable ego and intense outbursts of anger when situations defy his expectations. He frequently attempts to assert leadership over the group, though his decisions often endanger others rather than ensure their safety.

Kamijō's mental state deteriorates significantly on the island, escalating into overt narcissism and delusional behavior, including likening himself to historical figures such as Oda Nobunaga. He grows increasingly demanding and physically aggressive, coercing female survivors to strip naked under the guise of "proving loyalty" and threatening abandonment to insects if they refuse. He initially freezes during critical moments, like giant insect attacks on classmates, but later takes reckless actions, such as charging into danger to save Akira from a wasp despite Mutsumi Oribe's strategic interventions. Driven mad by witnessing Akira's horrific death—bisected by a giant protohermes grandis while parasite-controlled—his behavior becomes profoundly unhinged. He allies with Misuzu Jinno, collaborating to manipulate and betray other survivors. This includes locking classmates out of a medical clinic during an insect attack, indirectly causing Miki's death, and later molesting Chitose Naruse.

Subdued and tied up by the group who condemn him and Misuzu as unreliable, Kamijō justifies his betrayal by citing uncertainty about parasite infection in others, though Ayumi Matsuoka counters that his choices led to preventable deaths. The group ultimately abandons him at the clinic. His fate involves being anally raped and impregnated by giant gadflies; the larvae consume him internally before erupting from his abdomen, resulting in a grotesque death.
