Description
Toshi Tsukikage, an eleven-year-old Oedo Elementary student and descendant of Hijikata Toshizō, shares classes with fellow Shinsengumi heirs Isami Hanaoka and Soushi Yukimi. His younger brother is Kei Tsukikage, named after Yamanami Keisuke. Their lineage traces back to Juurou Tsukikage, a Shinsengumi member who crafted spiritual weapons using Luminotita during the Tokugawa era.

Initially clashing with Isami after an accidental encounter, Toshi evolves into one of her closest friends. His personality blends energetic enthusiasm with moments of social awkwardness. He possesses strong athletic prowess, especially in football; his kicking skills directly aid his use of the ancestral Dragon's Eye, a spherical artifact activated by spiritual energy. Despite physical confidence, he secretly enjoys the magical girl anime *Magical Fairy Uruuru Lovelin*, hiding it to avoid mockery. He sometimes struggles academically with kanji.

After discovering Shinsengumi artifacts in Isami's basement, Toshi embraces his heritage to combat the Kurotengu. He wields the Dragon's Eye as a kinetic-impact weapon, deploying it like a soccer ball or baseball in battle. Guided by the Shinsengumi ethos of justice, he nonetheless harbors human fears like vulnerability to ghost stories. His journey involves reconciling his diverse interests with societal norms while upholding his legacy alongside his team.

Toshi lives with parents Yasuyuki and Sonoe, and brother Kei, who shares Toshi's enthusiasm for the tokusatsu parody *Virtual Sentai Gambaman*. His interactions with antagonists focus on collective opposition to the Black Tengu Organization. The narrative highlights his loyalty to friends, lighthearted school moments, and steadfast commitment to their mission against supernatural threats.
