Description
Leon Lewis bears the title of Golden Knight Garo. Born amidst the flames of his mother Anna's execution for witchcraft, his traumatic arrival occurred during a witch hunt campaign led by Mendoza in Valiante. His father, German Lewis, rescued the newborn and raised him away from the kingdom. This profound early loss shaped his personality, leaving him plagued by recurring nightmares and visions of his mother's death.

He matured into a bitter and emotionally withdrawn man, often appearing deadpan. Deep-seated anger surfaces readily, particularly directed at his father, whom he perceives as dishonoring his mother's memory through womanizing. Social interactions are difficult due to inherent distrust and general naivety about the world. Though fundamentally kind, apathy towards the protective duties of a Makai Knight initially defined him; he saw his powers primarily as a tool for avenging his mother, not safeguarding humanity from Horrors. He similarly undervalued the Garo armor, viewing it merely as his mother's heirloom.

His journey involves significant growth. Initially driven solely by revenge, experiences with allies like Prince Alfonso San Valiante—also driven from Valiante by Mendoza—gradually broadened his perspective. He learned to wield the power of Garo more responsibly, though the armor remains susceptible to berserk states triggered by traumatic memories and anger. In the film *Divine Flame*, further development is evident. Having fully succeeded as Garo, he dedicates himself to training the next generation of Makai Knights alongside Alfonso. Tasked with exterminating a powerful Horror in Vazelia while confronting the kidnapping of his young trainee, he faces desperate circumstances surrounded by enemies. Unexpected rescue comes from Dario, a Makai Knight long thought missing. Following Dario leads him to a town and an encounter with a completely unexpected person, forcing him to confront new challenges and likely aspects of his past or identity.

His relationships are complex. The dynamic with German Lewis remains strained, marked by resentment over perceived flaws, though an underlying connection persists. His partnership with Prince Alfonso evolved from mutual necessity into a solid alliance focused on reclaiming Valiante and protecting people. Interactions with Emma Guzman, a powerful Makai Priestess harboring a distinct dislike for Makai Knights, involve friction alongside moments of aligned purpose against common threats. The encounter with Dario in *Divine Flame* introduces another significant, if initially mysterious, figure into his life.
