Description
Homare Kagayaki, who transforms into Cure Etoile, is a central character known for her elegance and quiet strength. She is a second-year student at L'Avenir Academy who carries the weight of a difficult past. Once a promising and nationally recognized figure skater, her career was derailed by a traumatic failed jump that led to a significant injury. This event instilled a deep-seated fear of failure and severely damaged her self-confidence, causing her to abandon the sport she once loved and transfer out of the athletic track at her school.

At the beginning of her journey, Homare presents a calm, collected, and mature exterior that often makes her appear aloof to her classmates. Beneath this composed surface lies a more vulnerable and sensitive personality. She has a great fondness for cute things, a side of her that is most visible through her deep affection for her pet dog, a stray she rescued named Mogumogu, and a cherished rabbit doll. Despite her serious demeanor, she harbors a humorous fear of horror films and ghost stories, which can cause her composed facade to crumble completely.

Living in a single-parent household with her mother, who works as a crane operator, and her grandparents, Homare is accustomed to shouldering her own burdens. Her life changes dramatically when she meets her new classmates, the optimistic野乃花 and the kind药师寺纱绫. Witnessing their courageous battles as Pretty Cures inspires a spark of hope within her, forcing her to confront the weakness she has been hiding. Initially struggling to reach her own transformation device due to her lingering trauma, a moment of crisis enables her to finally overcome her fears. She successfully claims her power and transforms into Cure Etoile, the Pretty Cure of Strength, with the declaration, Making everyone shine, the Pretty Cure of Strength, Cure Etoile.

As Cure Etoile, her abilities embody her regained flight. Her theme evokes a flight attendant, a motif of guiding and protecting others, reflected in her uniform and the large, translucent butterfly wings she acquires in her enhanced Mother Heart Style. Her primary attack is Heart Star, which she wields using her weapon, the Etoile Flute. In combat, she represents yellow, channeling her power into binding and striking her enemies with swift, graceful force.

Her interpersonal relationships are key to her development. She shares a deep bond with her childhood friend and former skating partner,若宫安理, who continues to support her ambitions. A significant emotional arc involves her developing romantic feelings for哈利哈姆哈利, the fairy caretaker of the baby Hugtan. After a painful journey of self-discovery where she learns his heart belongs to another, she bravely confesses her feelings only to be gently rejected, an experience that allows her to mature and move forward without bitterness.

Throughout the narrative, Homare's primary motivation is to regain her sense of self-worth and the courage to leap again, both literally and metaphorically. Her role in the team often involves providing a cool-headed analysis of situations and offering steadfast support to her more energetic friends. Her personal development culminates in a future epilogue where she has successfully returned to competitive figure skating, now with her hair grown long once more, and achieves victory in a major tournament, signifying her complete healing and the realization of her dreams.
