Movie
Description
Homare Kagayaki, a 14-year-old L'Avenir Academy student, possesses a reserved demeanor shaped by a traumatic childhood figure skating accident. A failed jump during a competition caused severe injury, forcing her retirement and instilling deep-seated fear and self-esteem issues, particularly around jumping. Despite excelling academically and projecting maturity, she privately cherishes cute things like her rabbit doll, her rescued dog Mogumogu, and ice cream.
Witnessing Hana Nono and Saaya Yakushiji fight as Pretty Cures and receiving their encouragement became a turning point. Her strong desire to protect others and regain the ability to "fly" manifested her Mirai Crystal. An initial attempt to grasp it failed due to resurging trauma. Later, targeted by the villain Charaleet and pushed to despair, she found renewed determination, overcame her fear, and seized the Mirai Crystal, transforming into Cure Étoile, the Pretty Cure of Strength, with the phrase "Heart Kiratto!" using the PreHeart device and Mirai Crystal Yellow. Her introduction catchphrase is "Making everyone shine! The Pretty Cure of Strength! Cure Étoile!".
As Cure Étoile, her appearance changes dramatically: long golden ponytail secured by a spiky yellow hairpiece with star clips, a blue flight attendant-style hat and tiara. She wears an orange mini-dress with a pale yellow cape-like shawl, a blue sash featuring a star holding her PreHeart pouch, orange heels, and a blue thigh band. Enhanced forms include the Cheerful Style, with a longer, ornate dress and rainbow accessories, and the Mother Heart Style, granting large, translucent butterfly-like wings. Her primary weapon is the Etoile Flute, used for the "Star Slash" attack. She participates in combination attacks like "Trinity Concert" (with Yell and Ange), "Cheerful Attack," "All·For·You," and "Tomorrow With Everyone".
She develops romantic feelings for Hariham Harry, the team's hamster-like guardian who transforms into a human. Her attempts to confess were complicated upon discovering Harry's devotion to Cure Tomorrow (Hugtan's future self). After confessing in episode 43 and being gently rejected, she accepted the outcome, resolving to protect the future alongside him. Key relationships include her supportive mother, Chitose; childhood friend and former skating partner, Henri Wakamiya; and her deep bond with teammates Hana and Saaya.
In *Precure Super Stars!*, Homare, Hana, and Saaya encounter the monster Usobakka during a flower viewing. Transforming into Cure Étoile to fight, she witnesses Usobakka disable their transformation items, reverting them to civilians. Usobakka captures her and Saaya using bubbles, trapping them within his body where they meet the captured Kirakira☆Pretty Cure à la Mode team. Discovering they are slowly turning to stone, they collaborate to escape. Homare learns Usobakka is Clover, a being Hana promised to help as a child. After combined efforts from all three Cure teams lead to Clover's purification and Usobakka's defeat, Homare returns with her friends.
By the 2030 epilogue, Homare achieves her dream, winning a major figure skating tournament. Her journey spans from a traumatized individual to a confident Pretty Cure and accomplished skater.
